de continuidad estructural, las cuales\u00a0 son una separaci\u00f3n entre estructuras, revestimientos de mamposter\u00eda, entre otros, estas\u00a0 eliminan la continuidad de esfuerzos entre dos elementos.<\/p>\n

Una de las formas mas sencillas de terminar la junta de dilataci\u00f3n es\u00a0 la aplicaci\u00f3n de una cubierta para juntas. Las cubiertas de juntas la protegen\u00a0 sin embargo permiten el movimiento esperado de la misma,\u00a0 por lo que se mantiene la rotura de la conexi\u00f3n entre las secciones del edificio, aislando los diversos esfuerzos entre ellas. Las juntas pueden ser de diferentes materiales como acero inoxidable, aluminio, acero galvanizado, PVC y cuentan con los m\u00e1s diversos acabados y colores, contribuyendo as\u00ed a su integraci\u00f3n en el dise\u00f1o final\u00a0 y acabados de edificios. En cuanto a su fijaci\u00f3n, siempre existe la preocupaci\u00f3n de no bloquear la junta de dilataci\u00f3n y permitir su movimiento, sea cual sea el tipo de fijaci\u00f3n, mediante tornillos, pegados, mediante clips. Adicionalmente, para asegurar la impermeabilizaci\u00f3n de la junta estructural se puede utilizar un sellador flexible que se aplica para cerrar la abertura de la junta y evitar que entre humedad, con el movimiento de asentamiento entre las secciones de la pared. Todos estos factores deben tenerse en cuenta al realizar un estudio de la envolvente de un edificio.<\/p>\n

Los materiales adyacentes a los bordes de las juntas de expansi\u00f3n son\u00a0 afectados por las diferencias de temperatura, la infiltraci\u00f3n de h\u00famedad y la tensi\u00f3n, que provocan el movimiento entre las dos secciones. El movimiento de temperatura es la expansi\u00f3n y contracci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica de los materiales de construcci\u00f3n y es muy com\u00fan en \u00e1reas que experimentan cambios clim\u00e1ticos estacionales. Una pared de mamposter\u00eda larga se expandir\u00e1 o contraer\u00e1 sobre su altura y longitud cuando se calienta o enfr\u00eda a temperatura ambiente. Las unidades de mamposter\u00eda individuales se alargan cuando se calientan y se deforman cuando se enfr\u00edan.
