Description

The best solution for preventing damage to bridges and overpasses

An expansion joint is an elastomeric device that accommodates relative movement between two structural elements in a bridge or road. Its main functions are:

To allow the deck slabs to move freely while supporting the transmitted loads.

To provide continuity to the road, supporting the traffic load

To prevent noise, impacts, and vibrations.

To provide adequate sealing and allow for water drainage.

Expansion joints consist of an internal steel structure designed to prevent joint deformation and allow for a smooth transition between slabs under any expansion conditions, while minimizing the loads generated in the elastomer and transmitted to the slab fastening bolts.

CORTARTEC elastomer expansion joints also compensate for vertical movements thanks to their rubber material. This feature is very important for movements and loads that cause vertical displacement. This type of bridge joint can be combined with aluminum or rubber turn-table components on walkways. Like the joints in the COR BDGE SERIES, there are 12 different models with varying movement capacities.

EASY INSTALLATION

The COR BDGE series expansion joints are manufactured in 2-meter sections and are lightweight compared to other types of expansion joints; this facilitates installation and reduces the need for lifting equipment.

DRIVING COMFORT

The joint’s flexibility adapts to the structure’s movements and reduces the impact of driving. This provides a comfortable ride for users.

LOW NOISE LEVEL

The displacement gaps in the joint’s upper surfaces are minimized by the special design, which reduces noise levels.

NON-SLIP SURFACE

The drainage grooves and the properties of the rubber reduce tire slippage and improve driving safety.

▪ STRUCTURAL SAFETY

The special surface design prevents debris from getting stuck in the openings, avoiding additional stress on the structure.

LONG-LASTING DURABILITY

It is manufactured from high-quality rubber raw material with high flexibility and impact resistance. Special design features consisting of steel reinforcement with rubber are suitable for use in heavy and intense traffic conditions. The rubber surface is resistant to UV rays, snow, and salt.

WATER TIGHTNESS

CORBDGE rubber joint modules form a watertight joint with the tongue-and-groove connection system. The COR HYDROFLEX sealing strip can be applied to the bottom of the joint for greater water tightness. A drainage pipe can be used on both sides to prevent water leakage from the edges.

USAGE RESTRICTIONS

For applications where the displacement capacity does not exceed 260 mm.

– Where the joint installation levels are not the same on both sides.

– When the joint cannot transfer vehicle loads to the substructure due to:

– unstable and non-parallel structural surfaces.
