Description

CEMflex VB ELEMENTS ARE COATED WITH A SPECIAL PROTECTIVE LAYER ON BOTH SIDES.

CEMflex VB is an active steel waterstop!
Its sealing function is based on the active crystallization process, as well as on the natural sintering process of the concrete.
CEMflex VB Features:

Its extremely strong adhesion to concrete is responsible for its excellent waterproofing properties.
CEMflex VB supports the natural sintering/crystallization of the joint as well as of cracks.

Installation of the CEMflex VB joint:

  • CEMflex VB, coated on both sides, must be installed directly on top of the reinforcing mesh.
CEMflex VB must be secured using the omega brackets of the steel plate support system.
Seams must be overlapped by at least 5 cm.

The special coating’s adhesion to the concrete prevents any water flow through the concrete construction joint. In addition to the special coating’s complete adhesion to the steel plate and the surrounding concrete, other chemical reactions occur, such as expansion, crystallization, self-sealing of concrete cracks, and natural sintering/crystallization (natural limestone formation) within the concrete cracks.
Only 3 cm of concrete cover on both sides is required to seal the joint and ensure up to 5 bar (50 m water pressure).
The elements are 2000 mm long, 150 mm high, and approximately 1.25 mm thick. The special coating is non-sticky, and therefore no protective film is required.

Applications for CEMflex VB

CEMflex VB can be used in all construction joints, whether horizontal or vertical, up to a maximum water pressure of 80 meters (8 bar).

Applications:

• Horizontal and vertical sealing of any concrete construction joint!
• Watertight joints in foundations, basements, storage tanks, tunnels, underground structures, and special-purpose solutions.

Composition of the CEMflex VB joint

Galvanized steel sheet (w = 0.75 mm / l = 2000 mm / h = 150 mm) coated on both sides with a special 0.5 mm-thick coating that chemically bonds to the concrete and permanently seals the joint.

INSTALLATION EXAMPLES:

·Labyrinth seal
·Crystallization seal
·Active support of natural sintering/crystallization, as well as lime formation
·Unique end connection when embedded in concrete
·General test certificate in accordance with the building code (abP)

CEMflex VB

The CEMflex VB steel plate reacts due to its various components encapsulated in the patented coating (which comes into direct contact with the surrounding concrete).
In addition to the excellent bond between the specially coated steel sheet and the concrete, several chemical reactions are initiated, such as expansion, crystallization, self-healing of concrete cracks, and the natural sintering/crystallization (natural formation of limestone) of concrete joints, as well as hairline cracks.
The components of the special coating require water or water-based liquids to automatically initiate the chemical reaction; this natural crystallization process is an active self-healing process!

CEMflex VB is a waterstop joint consisting of an “active” steel plate that reacts with water!
This active self-sealing process is automatically initiated upon contact with water. The effectiveness of this sealing process is guaranteed even decades after installation.
With the use of CEMflex VB, there will always be an automatic (active) waterproofing reaction/process. The crystallization and self-healing of concrete cracks will penetrate deeper and deeper into the concrete structure.
The waterproofing reaction of the CEMflex VB steel waterstop has been tested by an independent/public institution and is confirmed with an abP (Certificate/Approval of the General Building Certificate).
